In this section we hope to answer most of the frequently asked questions from parents and we hope you will find the content informative and helpful.
The best resource for parents is our Parent Information 2022, which is coming soon. We hope it will be of benefit to you and your children over the coming school year, particularly the calendar section.
During the school year there will be a variety of special classroom and whole school activities and celebrations. We encourage you to attend these functions when possible and to support them by sending needed supplies or treats. Your support of school activities makes your child feel important and sends the message that you value this school.
As a parent you are automatically a member of St Francis NS Parents Association. The PA is a great way to become more involved with your child’s school and is an excellent means of getting to know other parents.
We welcome involvement from parents who may have an interest or skill, suitable for a school setting, that they would be willing to share with the children during school hours e.g. sport, drama, art, computers, nature, or give a talk on a particular topic.
We particularly encourage parents who are available and willing, to assist with morning reading (in all classes). Notes are sent out at the beginning of the school year inviting parents to assist with morning reading in school.
Please note that we are committed to practises that safeguard our pupils and as such all non teaching staff and any volunteers with unsupervised access to children who are working in a school environment have to complete the Garda Vetting Process The relevant forms are available from the school office. Thank you for your co-operation.
