GROW Awards 2019

Congratulations to our Green Schools Committee, led by Mrs Lawless and Miss McCann, on another successful year at the Louth County Council GROW Awards. GROW stands for (GREEN, RENEWABLE, ORGANIC, WASTE MINIMISATION) and these Environmental Awards recognise schools, staff and pupils who help foster a love of the environment and understanding and appreciation of nature. Louth Sports Partnership

  A letter has been sent home with all pupils today – further copies can be downloaded here Louth Sports Partnership Filming Permission Louth Sports Partnership has invited St. Francis NS to help them launch their free “Game-Tube” by filming children using the game plans and chalk in the tube to demonstrate how to play some of the games. This will be professionally filmed by “Little Road Productions” in school.

Feis Dhun Dealgain 2019 – Speech & Drama

Congratulations to the pupils of St Francis NS who participated in the Feis Dun Dealgan last weekend. Organised by Patricia Reynolds, our visiting Speech & Drama teacher, this speech & drama festival is a wonderful opportunity for children to participate on a competitive platform through a medium of fun, building their confidence and presentation skills.  It is also the only Speech & Drama Festival held for competitors aged 4-18 years in County.

MS Readathon Congratulations

Congratulations to the pupils who took part in the MS Readathon at the end of last year. Pupils from 3rd to 6th classes were all invited to participate. In particular, the pupils from Miss Gray’s 3rd class raised a phenomenal sum. Special mention to Cian Cassidy, Conor White and Erin Goss who each raised over €100 for Multiple Sclerosis. World Book Day 2019

      Don’t forget that World Book Day is on Thursday 7th March. Once again all pupils are asked to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. Various activities are planned in each class to mark the day, and we are delighted to welcome children’s author Olive Mooney who will be storytelling in school on Friday.  Pupils can purchase signed copies of her books “Chronicles of Cadaver.

Grandparents Day
