We shall be holding a No Uniform Day on Thursday 28th May. Pupils may come in in normal clothes or fancy dress. We are asking for a donation of €2 per pupil. All proceeds will go to the Crosscause Romanian Orphanage to assist with their summer camps. Thank you for your support and co-operation.
The school is closed today for a Staff Planning Day. There will be no after-school tennis with Gus. Footprints pre-school is open as usual.
Congratulations to both our girls and boys basketball teams for winning their matches today against the CBS. The girls won 24-0 and they boys 12-2. These were the last matches in the Cispheile nDun Dealgan School league and rounded off an excellent year for our basketball teams. Many thanks to Coaches Gary and Del for all their work with the teams, and to class teacher Miss Lundy and SNA Sarah.

There was great excitement in school today when the Irish Coastguard came for a return visit, following their water safety talk in school 2 weeks ago. But this time, they brought the search and rescue helicopter with them! Our friends at Blackrock Park kindly gave permission for it to land there, and the whole school went to the park to watch it land. Each class had the opportunity to go.
Due to the school closure this Friday, 22md May, there will be no tennis camp with Coach Gus.

In June we will hold a uniform swap day where parents can bring in outgrown items of uniform and replace them If you have an old uniform that your child has grown out of, or they are moving on to a new school or secondary, we would be delighted to receive it as a donation. If you then need to get a new uniform, you may be first to come.
The Department of Education and Skills recently developed an individualised database of primary school children, called the Primary Online Database (POD). The Department issued a letter earlier this year which outlines the reasoning behind the collection of data as well as link to FAQ’s and further information. Pupils from 4th, 5th and 6th Classes travelled to St Vincent’s Secondary School this morning to see their Transition Year Show “Bring It On!”. The plot of the musical centres on Torrance Shipman, who inherits the position of captain on her high school’s cheerleading squad and attempts to lead her team to a sixth national title. However, Torrance is informed by the newest team member, Missy Pantone, that she is.
