GROW Awards 2019

Congratulations to our Green Schools Committee, led by Mrs Lawless and Miss McCann, on another successful year at the Louth County Council GROW Awards.

GROW stands for (GREEN, RENEWABLE, ORGANIC, WASTE MINIMISATION) and these Environmental Awards recognise schools, staff and pupils who help foster a love of the environment and understanding and appreciation of nature.

We are delighted to have retained our 5 star status in 2019 and to be top of the list of schools in the Municipal District of Dundalk.

Our Green Schools Committee is made up of a dedicated and enthusiastic team, committed to nurturing and improving our school environment, and acting as role models for all the St Francis pupils. Particular mention this year to Sarah Ellis McAllester in 6th Class who received a Junior Environmentalist award today, having served on our Green School Committee for several year. Well done Sarah – and thank you!

Thank you also to our Parents, to Blackrock Tidy Towns and to the whole school community for supporting us throughout the year on all our environmental work.
