February Assembly

Today we celebrated our achievements for January in our monthly whole school assembly.

Mrs Lawless gave a talk on St Bridgid and we shared what we have learned about her in class.

She welcomed our two visiting trainee teachers from France,  Madame Adeline LAKOMSKI (5th Class) and Monsieur Clément ROY who will be with us for the next two weeks.

Our Green Schools Committee gave a presentation on the current initiatives we are following. They emphasised how the Green Schools Programme is student led with the help of the staff and the wider community and is all about promoting long-term, whole-school action for the environment. Upcoming events include:
Monday February 10th – The BIG Travel Challenge starts
Friday, February 14th closing date for Posters Competition.
Monday 24th- The BIG Travel Challenge continues
Tuesday 25th of February – Feed the Fish (plastic waste found on the beach)
Tuesday March 10th – Green Schools Judges visit

The winners of the Golden Boot (for “green” travel to school) and the Golden Bin (for the tidiest classroom with the best re-cycling) were announced.

Both awards went to Miss Kellegher’s Senior Infants A who were thrilled to win The Double!Finally the winner

Finally the winners of the Key To Learning were announced.

For the Juniors the award went to Mrs Savages 1st Class, and for the Seniors the award went to Miss McKevitt’s 6th Class – well done everyone!
