February Assembly

Today we celebrated our achievements for January in our monthly whole school assembly. Mrs Lawless gave a talk on St Bridgid and we shared what we have learned about her in class. She welcomed our two visiting trainee teachers from France,  Madame Adeline LAKOMSKI (5th Class) and Monsieur Clément ROY who will be with us for the next two weeks. St Francis NS wins Credit Union Quiz

Congratulations to our school quiz teams who participated in the Connect Credit Union Quiz at O’Connells GFC clubrooms today. Both our Under 11 team and our Under 13 team took part against 11 other local schools. Grandparents Day Gallery

Thank you very much to all the grandparents who came in to school to visit us today as we marked Grandparent’s Day in school, as part of Irish Catholic Schools Week. Feis Dhun Dealgain

Our Speech & Drama teacher, Patricia Reynolds, organises the very successful Feis Dhun Dealgain which will take place at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dundalk, on 28th & 29th March 2020. Letters (pictured below) were sent home earlier in the month with all pupils who have expressed an interest in taking part and further copies are available from the school office. We encourage all pupils, from Junior Infants to 6th Class.

Grandparent’s Day 2020

  Grandparent’s Day is part of Irish National Schools Week which is marked at the end of January every year.  This day allows us to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of grandparents in a child’s spiritual and moral development. We shall once again be celebrating Grandparent’s Day this year by welcoming grandparents in to school to visit the classroom and join us for a coffee. Pupils will be bringing home.

Junior Einsteins Science Club

We are delighted that the Junior Einstein Science Club has chosen our school as the venue for their new Saturday Science Clubs in County Louth. Classes will commence this Saturday from 12.00-1.00pm and will take place in prefab 3 in school. Team Hope Shoebox Appeal 2019

WOW!!! Today the volunteers from Team Hope came in to collect our Shoeboxes and our final tally was an amazing 230 Shoeboxes. These beautifully wrapped, generous gifts from the St Francis NS Community, will soon be making the long journey to Africa where they will be distributed to children far less fortunate than our own. Spooky Walk 2019


Geraldines GFC Coaching

Pupils in 1st and 2nd Classes have had Gaelic coaching every Friday for the last 3 weeks from the fantastic coaches from the Geraldines GFC. Today the pupils did a “Spooky session” in their Halloween costumes, but didn’t quite manage to scare the coaches away! Coaching continues on Friday mornings for 1st and 2nd classes after the mid term break. Many thanks to the coaches of The Geraldines for giving.
