Grandparent’s Day 2020

  Grandparent’s Day is part of Irish National Schools Week which is marked at the end of January every year.  This day allows us to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of grandparents in a child’s spiritual and moral development. We shall once again be celebrating Grandparent’s Day this year by welcoming grandparents in to school to visit the classroom and join us for a coffee. Pupils will be bringing home.

Junior Einsteins Science Club

We are delighted that the Junior Einstein Science Club has chosen our school as the venue for their new Saturday Science Clubs in County Louth. Classes will commence this Saturday from 12.00-1.00pm and will take place in prefab 3 in school. Credit Union Art Winners

Every year senior pupils participate in the Credit Union Art Competition. This year the theme was “Walk of Life” and every pupil in 5th & 6th class was invited to submit an entry on their interpretation of the theme, on A3 paper. Team Hope Shoebox Appeal 2019

WOW!!! Today the volunteers from Team Hope came in to collect our Shoeboxes and our final tally was an amazing 230 Shoeboxes. These beautifully wrapped, generous gifts from the St Francis NS Community, will soon be making the long journey to Africa where they will be distributed to children far less fortunate than our own. Spooky Walk 2019


Geraldines GFC Coaching

Pupils in 1st and 2nd Classes have had Gaelic coaching every Friday for the last 3 weeks from the fantastic coaches from the Geraldines GFC. Today the pupils did a “Spooky session” in their Halloween costumes, but didn’t quite manage to scare the coaches away! Coaching continues on Friday mornings for 1st and 2nd classes after the mid term break. Many thanks to the coaches of The Geraldines for giving.

Christmas Annuals’s Merry and Magical Christmas Annuals are now available. Jam packed with stories, puzzles, features and crafts. Order forms went home with all pupils last week for the 2019 Christmas Annuals. There are 5 annuals available, priced at just €2 each. St Francis Day Assembly – 4th October 2019

This morning Fr Keenan conducted a short mass in school to pupils from 2nd-6th classes to celebrate St Francis Day. We then had a school assembly (one for 2nd-6th classes and a separate one for the Infant classes and First Class) to mark St Francis Day and to celebrate the achievements in September.
