2nd Class Teacher (Job Share)
Before joining the Staff of St Francis NS, Debbie Lundy taught in the Redeemer Boys’ School for 11 years. She attended the University of Ulster in Belfast for 5 years studying Art and Design, where she obtained a BA Honors Degree. Debbie then went on to Liverpool Hope University where she completed her PGCE in teaching.
When Debbie arrived in August 2014, she was tasked with taking our first “senior” class through 6th class, Confirmation and transition to Secondary School. She set the tradition for our 6th class, introducing the Junior Entrepreneur Programme to the classroom, and the hugely popular end of year Carlingford trip, which has proved immensely popular with pupils and parents for confidence and team building.
Debbie loves her job as a teacher and could never see herself doing anything else. She has a passion for Art and Design and any crazy outdoor activities!!!!.
She was instrumental in helping the school achieve the Green Flag for Travel and the Active School Flag status. She believes that keeping children fit and healthy and active is a very important part of the curriculum.
Miss Lundy took a 2 year career break from 2017-2019 and is really looking forward to returning as 2nd class teacher on a job share with Sophie Twibill.
