Annemarie Carolan (later to become Annie Sweeney) was the 3rd permanent teaching staff member to join St Francis National School in 2010.

Annie taught in 1st and 2nd Classes for several years, moved to 5th Class 3 years ago and because she loved her class so much she taught them again last year as 6th class teacher.
Annie studied at St Patrick’s, Drumcondra and obtained her Bachelor in Education. In 2015 she gained a Masters in Education in St Patrick’s College and has taken on the temporary role of Deputy Principal twice to cover Mrs O’Rourke’s maternity leave.
Last year Annie had a baby daughter and returned at Easter to take 2nd class through their very important preparation for First Holy Communion.
In 2019/20 she will be teaching one of the Senior Infant classes and has recently been appointed to Assistant Principal (AP2) Post.
Annie’s main interest lies in the teaching of mathematics.
She also enjoys coaching the school Gaelic Football teams with Miss Kellegher.
