Handy Hoodies Have Arrived

Handy hoodies have arrived in St Francis National School. A few weeks ago Brigitte ordered the hoodies on the 22nd of September. Unfortunately, there was a delay in delivery due to an increase in demand, so 6th class waited a bit longer than normal. Finally on the 7th of November, Brigitte came into 6th class and surprised them with their brand new hoodies. The room was full of excitement, but their teacher Mr McShane had to do some organising first.
With the help of Sophie, Vanessa, Sebastian and John, he laid the hoodies out in different piles, which were organized by size. He then got Chloe and Beth to check over the order list before John and Luke confirmed it was right. Then, it was time to hand out the hoodies. Mrs Carroll’s class were split all day so at the end of the day Mr Mcshane had to call them in from different classes so they could get their hoodies. It was already about 2:20pm when Mr Mc Shane was only able to start handing out the hoodies – the children normally start to pack up now! With almost 60 eager pupils in the classroom Mr Mc Shane was bombarded with “Where is my hoodie?” After a chaotic afternoon, Mr Mc Shane finally finished giving out the hoodies before it was too late. All of the children were very happy leaving the school (five minutes late) because it was Friday and they had their hoodies.
The hoodies were ordered from Uniformity. They were approximately 25 to 30 euro. The children were informed by a past pupil, Lilly Matthews, to get one size bigger than what was comfortable because the hoodies would get smaller in the wash, and because we’ll grow so much this year (I hope!). The children had 5 options to choose from, they were large youth, XL youth, small adults, medium adults and large adults. In our class, Rose and Jack organized the sizes the children wanted to order and in Ms Carroll’s class Vanessa and Nessa did the same. Imprinted on the back of these amazing hoodies is “Class of 2026” and underneath “Scoil Phroinsiais Naofa”, which means St Francis National School. In the bubble writing “2026”, all of the names of children have been printed on.
Now all of the children enjoy wearing their hoodies as much as they possibly can, because of how soft and warm these delightful, new, handy hoodies are. Thank you Brigitte, Mr Mc Shane, Ms Carroll, Lily Matthews, and all the children that were involved.
On the front of the hoodie we have the school crest :
The Three spirals on the school crest represent the St Francis National School Community: the pupils, the parents and the staff.
Together we work hard to support each other, to bring out the very best in everyone.

On the back of the hoodies it says “Class of 2026” because that is the year we graduate from primary school and move on to second level.
Inside the “2026”logo is written the name of every pupil in 6th Class.
