On the 24th September, St. Francis 6th Classes had the invaluable opportunity to learn the life saving skill of CPR by the Blackrock and Haggardstown defibrillator group. As we were learning compressions, we were having an educational experience performing with mannequins. In addition to that, we also learnt the procedure for when an adult, child, or pregnant person is choking.
“It was a very nice and life changing skill to learn. It was very interesting for all of us. The staff were also extremely kind and performed a great demonstration of CPR,” says Realtein.
Overall, we, 6th class, truly recommend taking the CPR course as it is a crucial skill to learn so even you can triple the chance of saving a life by doing it.
