On Thursday the 21st of March, 2024, St Francis NS played against other schools as “The Master Knights.”
5th and 6th Class pupils from across the North East played against each other in Simonstown Gaels GAA Hall in Navan, Co. Meath. Competition was fierce because these were the best players from the best schools in the Ficheall competitions from this part of the country.
Although our pupils really had to use their heads to avoid all the tricks and traps to be expected from a game of Chess, as well as come up with those of their own, it was nevertheless an enjoyable day and The Master Knights came fourth, with the team that came third beating us by only half a point! Other teams that came ahead of us were not far ahead either.
Well done to all pupils who represented our school in this tournament.
